About Me

Hello and thank you for checking out my webpage. My name is Emma Flower. I have a private psychotherapy practice in Newport, Isle of Wight. For the last 39 years I have dedicated my working life to the NHS, treating those in secondary care.I began my journey as a registered mental health nurse. For the last 25 years I have worked as a psychotherapist, specialising in offering therapy to those with the diagnosis of emotionally unstable personality disorder (also known as borderline personality disorder) PTSD, depression, and anxiety.I offer individual and couples therapy to adults, aged 18 and over. I believe that there are times in all our lives when we experience difficulty.Talking to a therapist is often the first step in starting to feel better. I offer a private and confidential space where you can begin to explore your experience and make sense of difficulties.I specialise in offering DBT (https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/drugs-and-
treatments/talking-therapy-and-counselling/dialectical-behaviour-therapy-dbt/) & DBTPE (https://dbtpe.org) which is a therapy to develop skills and regulate difficult emotions and treat PTSD.I also offer IPT (https://www.iptuk.net/about-ipt.html) which is an evidence-based therapy for depression and CFT, (https://www.psychologyassociates.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/CFT-Info-Sheet.pdf) which is helpful when working with PTSD and shame.

Fees

I offer a free initial 30-minute discovery call via Microsoft Teams. The fee for a 50-minute session is £80. I ask that the fee is paid 24 hours before the appointment. If sessions are cancelled with less than 24 hours notice the full rate will be charged.
